MDes Surface Pattern Design

Completing the Textiles for Fashion pathway of the Surface Pattern Design programme, Hannah has explored pattern concealed in the everyday; her ideas and interpretations exploring a wealth of texture, colour and form hidden in plain sight. As a Printed Textile Designer, colour and image are integral to Hannah’s practice alongside her synthesis of process through sophisticated use of digital and analogue techniques.

This collection focuses on adding and subtracting colour through hand dyed colour in tandem with hand printed processes like devore and discharge, to celebrate the skill and craftsmanship of the hand in parallel with multi-layered digital print technologies.  This multi-directional way of working celebrates Hannah’s skills and passion for print, forming a luxury collection of forward-thinking outcomes for womenswear and lifestyle surfaces.
