IN REAL LIFE

Inspired by the Olafur Eliasson exhibition of the same name (Tate Modern, 2019), a list of words created a real-time response to kick start this project…

The Art & Design Foundation students end of year project and exhibition this year has been like no other. The project, ‘In Real Life’, tasked students to respond to current events happening around the world. There were no restrictions placed on their sources; example topics included the environment, politics, mental health and the current pandemic.

Students have produced work that addresses a range of complex concepts and processes. Due to Coronavirus restrictions, the majority of this work has been produced in domestic settings, and demonstrates ingenuity and resourcefulness.

It gives me great pleasure to share the creativity that has been applied throughout the year on Foundation, and I’m sure you can sense the time and effort that has gone into producing this exhibition.

I would like to thank, friends, families and relatives for their support and encouragement.

I would also like to thank my staff team, Shellie, Anthony, Jason, Becky and Anna along with my technicians, Tash and Terri for all of their hard work, dedication and understanding.

Most of all, I would like to thank all of the Foundation students, and wish you all success in your creative futures.
