ABOUT HANNAH

My work explores the role of humans in ecology, focusing on society’s impact on endangered species. My exhibition piece aims to highlight the plight of endangered animals through illustrative prints on handmade paper, with natural tones which reflect the delicate balance of the ecology we are part of and continue to impact upon. This work was inspired by contemporary designers Ed & James Harrison and their project entitled ‘Under the Skin’. For my exhibition piece I wanted to continue the theme from my animal and mineral project which was animal extinction and endangerment. Since the title we had to work from was called desire, I came up with the idea ‘The Desire for Sanctuary’ which explored through creating work that was sustainable and recyclable.
