ABOUT ELINOR

Concealed – my work this year has focussed on research through making, with an interest in form, shape and pattern. Through experimenting with aluminium and a hole punch, I made an aesthetic connection between the metal and a popular brand of crisps, with the discarded metal ‘holes’ resembling Pringles. This prompted me to consider how I might replicate other brands of crisps and snacks, elevating these globally – recognised mass-produced snack foods to a higher status through the preciousness of metal.

I have been exploring the history of jewellery, but also contemporary makers.  For curatorial methods I have referred to contemporary gallery display including Galerie Marzee and Gallery RA, Amsterdam.
