ABOUT ALISTAIR

Bugatti have played a role in defining luxury for the automotive sector since 1926 where Ettore Bugatti had his dream of making the most expensive and luxury car of all time. This came to fruition as the type 41 Royale. Calèche (French for horse drawn carriage) is a modern interpretation of the Royale celebrating the craftsmanship and luxury synonymous with the Bugatti brand as well as the progression from the coachmen of horse drawn carriages, to the present chauffeurs, to the inevitable replacement that is autonomy. The project is an exploration of what this could look like, culminating in a final design whilst respecting Bugatti’s design language.
