My theme has involved rediscovering childhood pastimes &#8211; reflecting on the whimsical and seemingly redundant nature of these practices. I want to demonstrate that embodying these processes in my creative practice is a way to connect to the past through the present, to think about ethical and sustained making practices, to work innovatively and appreciatively, to be conceptual and conscientious. My piece manifests as a textile quilt utilising recycled clothing, clothes labels and clothing receipts which essentially comments on fast fashion and child sweatshop
