The design carved into them relates to cells in the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW173292857 BCX0\">brain;<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW173292857 BCX0\"> neurons. This links to psychologist research suggesting that biological development of many <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW173292857 BCX0\">working class<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW173292857 BCX0\"> people is <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW173292857 BCX0\">effected<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW173292857 BCX0\"> by environmental factors. I wanted to create work on this after conducting primary research in the form of interviews, in which many people stated they didn\u2019t believe that class was an issue anymore. My work challenges this assumption by demonstrating the differences that still exist between the social classes. The crisp packets also represent the nutritional deficit often seen in working class diets, which research suggested affects brain development. The materials also represent working class labour. I used crisp packets as a representative of a typical lunch item for a manual labourer. I chose to use the metallic side of the packets to give it a more industrial aesthetic, and the shape of a boiler suit to represent the manual labourer jobs associated with the working
