ABOUT CHIARA<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Emotion has always been one of the most difficult things to capture in an artwork, and yet, for me, it is the most important. Since it has no physical form, I like to depict it using a combination of abstract motifs and through the expressions of the characters in my pieces. To capture the nuances of human expression, I don’t create a strict anatomical recreation of the human face, as it feels stiff and distant. Instead, I identify the shapes in a face that communicate the most emotion and highlight those as much as possible. I admire expressive and fluid linework because of the way it manages to create atmosphere in just a few <\/span>strokes and<\/span> try to include it in my art as much as possible. Working with <\/span>risograph<\/span> printing has helped me limit the amount of detail in my pieces, and instead focus a lot of my energy into creating shapes that are as effective as possible in capturing the mood of a piece.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
