ALANIS FLETCHER

SURFACE PATTERN & TEXTILES

ABOUT ALANIS

For my project I have followed with a theme of Play where I traced the family tree of games and how they link from traditional and digital gaming. I created my imagery from playing with these toys and keeping note of or keeping the score sheets. Through developing my imagery, I also added a tactile element to invite viewers in.

I see myself as a designer/maker for a company where I can receive different creative projects for different accessories and furnishings for interiors.

I love the ability to get a taste of different processes that you wouldn’t usually get on a textiles course. There’s an ethos to try anything and everything; you can get involved in so much, building up your list of processes and materials, your imagery development skills and your ability to apply your patterns within a contextual setting.
